As our business is divided into three main operational disciplines, we have redefined these for the future from an ESG perspective: Provision of sustainable investments, sustainable construction and sustainable portfolio management.
The starting point for creating sustainable investments and a “Manage to Green” offering is transparency. Particularly in the case of existing buildings, we use these findings to examine the extent to which remediation or, in the case of undeveloped land, a new build or demolition and new build respectively are really resource-efficient. Or whether it makes more sense to focus on extending the life of the property and thus conserving the energy that has already been used. In order to be able to meet the demand for an ecological investment in existing properties as well, we offer the retrofitting of photovoltaic systems on the roofs of our existing building portfolio as standard. Such retrofits are financed by sustainable banks. We can, therefore, offer our customers a “green” overall package.
Sustainable investments and the associated issue of how capital is invested have experienced strong growth in recent years. Meaning: Even from the point of view of traditional criteria – return, security, liquidity – it is worth looking at the issue. Especially for long-term and future-oriented strategies.
In addition to sustainable solutions for our customers, GARBE would also like to continue to contribute to society as a socially responsible company. It is important for us that in all our initiatives in the area of ESG, it is not the façade that is right, but the substance. The latest developments strengthen us once again in our efforts, because sustainability and ESG is an investment in the future!
