- environmental measures, the classic manage-to-green approach seeking to lower the carbon footprint of a given property, and emphasis on the responsible use of primary energy (recycling materials during demolitions, taking cradle-to-cradle/circular economy approaches, preserving grey energy by extending a property’s service life, reducing soil sealing through brownfield developments).
- measures to enhance the well-being of people occupying a given property, taking a manage-to-social approach that could be supplemented by corresponding tenant use of the premises

Our logistics property developments meet the latest requirements for the DGNB “Gold” certificate. We thereby set standards that ensure we live up to our ecological, economical and social responsibility.









Ready for Solar Energy – Preliminary PV Set-up Included
Our warehouses are preconfigured to accommodate the greatest possible surface use by photovoltaic systems. Thus, we create the basis for the efficient and sustainable generation of electricity directly on site.






Heating without Fossil Fuels
Our warehouses are heated without the use of fossil fuels. This helps to protect the climate and meets tomorrow’s requirements even today. At the same time, we optimise the carbon output during construction.









Near-Natural Landscaping
By planting regional species, we actively promote the biodiversity of our green spaces. This creates valuable habitats for insects and small animals.
Green Feel-Good Spots – Outdoor Community Areas
By integrating sitting nooks into outside areas, we create attractive community spaces.

We meet the requirements of Germany’s Building Electromobility Infrastructure Act (GEIG) by installing at least one charging point per building and by equipping 30% of the parking spots with empty conduits and adequate distribution reserves.

Photovoltaics – Using Our Rooftops for a Green Future
Sustainable energy generation has become more urgent than ever – and photovoltaics (PV) plays a key role in this context. Like others, we have analysed the potential of our real properties and found they present a great opportunity for the use of PV systems. Especially existing properties provide unused surfaces that could contribute to the sustainable generation of electricity. On top of helping to protect the environment, such upgrades also imply financial benefits for owners and tenants.
We are also committed to sustainability when it comes to new-build structures as we include all preliminary set-up features that are necessary to achieve maximum PV occupancy. We prepare roof surfaces for their efficient use in future electricity generation, obviating the need for costly retrofitting measures.

Straubing Logistics Asset
Our logistics property in the Bavarian town of Straubing sets new standards with its sustainable construction type, consistently using timber as primary building material. The innovative wood construction has drastically lowered the building’s carbon footprint while creating an resource-conserving, energy-efficient building structure. Further augmented by modern sustainability solutions, the building meets the highest ESG standards and combines environmental responsibility with a forward-looking logistics approach.


Industrial logistics park Langenhagen
In direct proximity to Hanover Airport, GARBE created an industrial logistics park of about 15,500 sqm that includes modern office and social areas. The sustainably constructed property is DGNB “Gold” rated and equipped with a photovoltaic system.
Werne Logistics Centre
In the north-east corner of the Ruhr, GARBE developed a modern, resource-conserving logistics property on a former brownfield of 296,000 sqm. The revitalisation of the derelict site created new floor space for economic use without sealing additional greenfield land. The property is built for optimal energy-efficiency and boasts sustainable infrastructure.
