The sustainable business model
Ecological and social corporate management is made up of many different areas. In addition to responsible portfolio management and compliance with all ESG criteria in the acquisition, sustainable project development and the transparency of the ESG performance of our portfolios also play a major role.
Responsible portfolio management
By preserving grey energy, it is possible for us to build responsibly. In addition, there is the revitalization of brownfields to minimize land sealing. GARBE also invests in ecologically and economically sustainable building renovation and in the procurement and analysis of specific ESG data on each individual property.
ESG criteria in purchase
In order to meet the ESG criteria for each purchase, GARBE prepares an ESG due diligence questionnaire and takes care of data acquisition and integration. The economically sustainable strategy “manage-to-green” is also implemented by defining relevant restructuring measures.
Sustainable project developments
Project development at GARBE includes the revitalization of urban and peri-urban properties through innovative and socially acceptable building concepts and the cradle-to-cradle approach. By carefully selecting materials, GARBE minimizes the impact on the environment. The concepts for green energy and a socially acceptable building design also help to preserve nature. Among other things, the focus here is on rainwater storage and use and the minimization of sealed surfaces. Already 90% of all project developments at GARBE currently meet the DGNB Gold Standard, because certifications by DGNB, BREEAM or LEED are also possible.
Transparency of the ESG performance of our portfolios
We can identify concrete renovation measures through the digital availability and evaluation of energy consumption data. Among other things, we also focus on the topic of green leases, as well as the area of transparency, in implementation by GRESB. By preparing the reports according to GRESB, we can achieve international ESG benchmarking for our portfolios.
