Garbe Industrial Real Estate leases further space to K+S near Bad Hersfeld

Wildeck/Hamburg, 1 August 2024 – Garbe Industrial Real Estate GmbH is expanding its cooperation with the mining and fertiliser company K+S. In Wildeck in northern Hesse (Hersfeld-Rotenburg district, Germany), the Hamburg-based project developer has leased another logistics hall with a total area of around 7,200 square metres on a long-term basis to the leading supplier of mineral products for agriculture, industry and consumers.
A year ago, K+S had already moved into a unit with a total area of around 10,000 square metres. The company operates the Werra integrated facility with several mines and potash factories nearby and uses the halls in Wildeck for its warehousing and logistics activities. “The short distance to our Werra plant and the excellent suitability of the property were the deciding factors for us to settle in Wildeck and now expand,” emphasises Guido Kamm, Head of Warehousing & intraLogistics at K+S.
The logistics centre, consisting of two hall sections, is located on a 32,000-square-metre site in the “Im Mackenrothschen Garten” industrial estate, in the middle of one of Germany’s most important logistics regions. The A 4 motorway runs in the immediate vicinity, connecting the site with Erfurt and Dresden to the east and Bad Hersfeld and the Kirchheim triangle to the west. There is a connection to the A 7 motorway, one of the most important north-south axes in Germany. The A 4 Wildeck-Hönebach junction is 600 metres away from the logistics centre.
Garbe Industrial Real Estate took over the property in 2022. It was built according to modern ecological standards. To generate renewable energy, for example, there is a photovoltaic system on the roof with a peak output of approx. 1.6 megawatts. The building is certified to the Gold Standard of the German Sustainable Building Council. For the loading and unloading of trucks, the property is equipped with a total of 15 dock levellers and two sectional doors at ground level. There are parking spaces for 61 cars and three trucks on the outdoor area.
