As in 2021, GARBE Industrial has once again planted trees in the Sachsenwald forest near Aumühle this year. We made a commitment to plant one tree for every 100 square metres of warehouse space developed, thereby giving something back to nature beyond the legally required environmental compensation measures.
10,000 Beech Trees for the Sachsenwald Forest
Compared to our previous tree-planting initiative, GARBE Industrial has nearly doubled the number of trees planted this year. Specifically, 10,000 beech trees are being planted in the Sachsenwald forest.
The number of trees planted this year is based on the approximately 1,000,000 m² of logistics space that we had developed by the end of 2022.
For this project, we have partnered with the Foundation Unternehmen Wald. Established in Hamburg in 2006, this non-profit foundation has been committed to promoting nature conservation, environmental education and forest research ever since. Working together with partners from the forestry sector, environmental education, and nature conservation, it delivers numerous regional projects every year.
