Duisburg/Hamburg, 21 September 2026 – GARBE Industrial, one of the leading developers, providers and managers of logistics, light industrial and commercial real estate in Germany and Europe, and property developer BREMER Projektentwicklung just sold Multi-User Park Duisburg, an industrial park in the Meiderich district of Duisburg that they jointly developed, to Redevco, a leading European investment and management company. The transaction was closed on 16 September 2026. The parties agreed not to disclose the selling price.
GARBE Industrial and BREMER Projektentwicklung developed three buildings with a combined floor area of nearly 29,500 square metres on the former “Zeus” site. To this end, the former steel industry site of around 56,000 square metres was remediated and redeveloped for new commercial use. In addition to being one of the joint venture partners, BREMER acted as general contractor. The new buildings are predominantly leased to businesses active in the e-commerce industry.
“The sale concludes the successful development of the industrial brownfield into a modern multi-user park. The fact that the transaction was signed within the six-week exclusivity period demonstrates, on the one hand, the significant interest in the property and the location’s potential, and, on the other hand, the high level of professionalism shown by both parties in executing the transaction,” said Peter Bartholomäus, CIO of GARBE Industrial.
The location is conveniently integrated into Germany’s national road network: The A59 motorway passes in the immediate vicinity while the Duisburg-Nord motorway interchange, which connects to the A42 motorway, is just a few hundred metres away. The A42 in turn acts as feeder to the A2, a major east-west motorway.
The buildings’ roof surfaces feature a total of 6,380 photovoltaic modules with a combined peak output of 2.647 megawatts. The three buildings are heated by heat pumps and do not require any fossil energy sources. GARBE Industrial and BREMER seek to have Multi-User Park Duisburg certified to the Gold standard of the DGNB German Sustainable Building Council.
“We closely dovetailed development and construction during this project. Acting as both joint venture partner and general contractor, we were able to coordinate and implement decisions quickly and cost-effectively. This was a major advantage, especially for a multi-user project with varying usage requirements that was built on a complex brownfield site,” said Bernd Jungholt, Managing Director of BREMER Project Development.
“Multi-User Park Duisburg is a substantial addition to our German logistics portfolio as it strengthens our presence in the Rhine-Ruhr region, which is a major core market with long-term potential for us. We hope to undertake further joint projects with GARBE Industrial in the future,” said Camila Malzkorn, Head of Transaction Management at Redevco.
During the transaction, the joint venture was advised by GT Law, Colliers and HLB Stückmann.
