Construction work begins for the Garbe Industrial Park Soest

Soest/Hamburg, 10. June 2026 – Garbe Industrial will begin construction of the new Garbe Industrial Park in Soest (North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany) in the second quarter of 2026. A property with a total area of around 19,200 square metres for tenants from the production, commercial, industrial, logistics, e-commerce and light industrial sectors is to be built on a plot of around 28,700 square metres. 

The site is located in the south-east of the city, just a few hundred metres from the A44 motorway. It connects the site with Unna and the Ruhr region to the west and with Kassel to the east. The Soest-Ost junction can be reached within a minute without driving through the town. “Soest’s location on the eastern edge of the Ruhr region, with excellent connections to the motorway network and the well-established economic structure with a diverse mix of industries, make it an important location in North Rhine-Westphalia,” says Frank Soppa, Regional Head West / Development at Garbe Industrial: “We see significant potential, particularly for logistics, warehousing and distribution activities. The property offers optimal conditions for the efficient handling of modern goods flows.” 

A wholesaler for agricultural machinery spare parts was previously based at the site. The outdated buildings were demolished to make the site usable again and prepare it for the construction of a modern, sustainable property. The new building is planned with a hall area of around 17,000 square metres. In addition, there will be around 1,700 square metres of storage space on intermediate levels (mezzanine) and a further 500 square metres for offices and social areas. The property will be equipped with 17 dock levellers and two sectional doors at ground level for the loading and unloading of trucks. Parking spaces for 40 cars and three trucks will be provided outside. 

Garbe Industrial is aiming for certification for the property in accordance with the Gold Standard of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB). A rooftop photovoltaic system is planned to generate renewable energy. The building will be heated using heat pumps, allowing it to operate without the use of fossil fuels. The property is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2026.
